The Chevening Alumni of Malaysia is delighted to host a lecture on the Global Financial Crisis by economics supremo Dr K S Jomo on December 4.

Dr Jomo is Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Development at the United Nations. He recently made news when appointed onto the United Nations' high-level task force to examine possible reforms to the global financial system. This Commission is headed by Nobel Prize winner for Economics, Joseph Stiglitz.

I am delighted that Jomo accepted my invitation to speak at a forum hosted by the Alumni, during a whirlwind visit to Malaysia this week.
